Main Menu Manager

Overview

The administrator can manage the web pages that are in the main menu.  The Main Menu Manager is the critical page that allows the administrator define the menu name, the position in the menu and have access to other pages that allow the administrator to change the page content and the security level.

Edit Buttons and Links

Notice that there is an "Edit" button and an "Edit" Link

  • Menu Name and Security - If you click on the edit button
    under the "Menu Name and Security" column it will allow you to change the name shown on the main menu, the sequence number and also the security level of the page.
  • Page Content - If you click on the edit link
    under the "Page content" heading you can edit the content of that specific page.  In the case of the Data pages (Documents, Links, Contacts and Newsletters) you will be taken to the edit page with a list of items that are stored for that type


Edit Page

When you click on the either the "Update" or "Add" buttons you come to the edit page.   You can enter the following fields:

  • Page Type
    The type of page you are adding which can be Content Page, Sub Menu Page, Document etc.    When you add the page you choose the type of page you are adding.  You can not have duplicates of any of the Data pages such as Documents, Events, Links and Newsletters.
  • Title
    This is the title that will show up in the main menu
  • Who can see this page
    This is your chance to restric access to pages of the website to people who are not members of your organization.   Click here to see the security levels that are available. 
  • Sequence Number - Seq No
    By changing this value you can change the sequence of that these pages appear in the main menu.  If you sort by sequence number you can see the order that the items will appear in the main menu. On add this is defaulted to the highest sequence number + 10.   The highest sequence numbers are to the right of the screen.
